Summary or Abstract: The disparities that may lead to achievement gaps among white and minority students have not improved much in the past six years, according to an Educational Testing Service report. In addition, minority students are more likely than their white counterparts to watch more television, be exposed to environmental hazards, learn from uncertified teachers, share a classroom with more students and have a teacher who quits before the end of the school year, the report found.
